Main Research Fields
The preparation, purification and identification of protein is the basis of all protein scientific research. the Core Facility for Biomolecule Preparation and Characterization at Technology Center for Protein Science, Tsinghua University have the scale effect since foundation, which can give full support to the research on protein structure and function. We provide four kinds of expression systems such as: E. Coli, Yeast, Insect cell and Mammalian cell suspended system to researchers from universities, research institutes, small biological companies and so on. We can also provide the protein related services, including molecular cloning, expression and purification, characterization, analysis of interaction,Screening of small molecule compounds and a series of related research.
Currently we have a large number of expression vectors containing different tags (His, GST, etc.), effective expression strain and cell lines. We also provide a variety of specific bioreactors (5 l - 100 l) in order to support the user for high quality samples and other specific expression requirements. We also have more than ten types of AKTA instruments and different kinds of GE columns for protein purification, which can provide large-scale protein purification at the same time. To study the protein physical/chemical properties and interactions between the bio-molecules, the facility also equipped with more than ten kinds of large instruments, such as: AUC, DLS, SLS, UV, CD, Stop-flow, ITC, BLI, SPRi, MST and so on.
The Core Facility for Biomolecule Preparation and Characterization has has 12 staff members who are responsible for the daily use, management and testing services of the instruments.
