The Center is home to China’s top structural biology research teams, featuring CAS academicians, and winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Meanwhile, it has trained many postdoctoral fellows and doctoral students as a cradle of outstanding young researchers for domestic and foreign universities and institutes. The Center has an international academic committee consisting of more than ten foreign experts in structural biology, including several Nobel laureates.

Cryo-EM Facility

A world class cryo-electron microscopy (Cryo-EM) facility is the foundation of Tsinghua University Branch of China National Center for Protein Sciences(Beijing). Cryo-EM facility of Tsinghua University provides expertise a nd resources for understanding both molecular a nd cellular structures by using cryo-EM and three-dimensional reconstruction tech nique. The facility has 8 tra nsmission electron microscopes,an FIB/SEM dual bea m system, a nd a correlative light-electron microscopy (CLEM) system, as well as a full set of cryo-sample preparation apparatuses including cryo-plungers, plasma clea ners a nd carbon evaporators.

X-ray Crystallography Facility

The X-ray Crystallography facility platform is one of the protein research platforms at the National Protein Research Facility (Tsinghua) Base. It is located in rooms B1019-1023, 1st Floor, Medical Science Building, Tsinghua University. The platform has been equipped the most comprehensive automated protein crystallography equipment in China that can provide powerful technical support for protein crystal screening, observation, optimization, data collection and structural solving solution for biology scientists. All platform equipment is available for internal and external researchers. We welcome all researchers from all the nationwide colleges and scientific research institutions to visit our university and take advantage of all the devices of the platform.

Neclear Magnetic Resonance Facility

The biomolecular Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) facility at Tsinghua University is a key component of Tsinghua University's Protein Technology Center. The facility consists of two state-of-the-art NMR spectrometers including a Bruker AVANCE III HD 800 MHz and a Bruker AVANCE III HD 600 MHz, both equipped with a TCI cryoprobe and an autosampler. These two spectrometers are open for academic users in and out of Tsinghua University, providing efficient and convenient service of NMR data acquisition and analysis.

Biocomputing Platform

The Biocomputing Platform of Protein Sciences Technology Center in Tsinghua University aims to support biological and medical computing researches. With growing capacity of big data processing and parallel computing, the computing facility is now able to provide service for large-scale data processing and analysis, especially, for high-resolution electron cryomicroscopy(Cryo-EM).

Protein Preparation and Identification Facility

The preparation, purification and identification of protein is the basis of all protein scientific research. The Protein Preparation and Identification facility at Technology Center for Protein Science, Tsinghua University have the scale effect since foundation, which can give full support to the research on protein structure and function. We provide four kinds of expression systems such as: E. Coli, Yeast, Insect cell and Mammalian cell suspended system to researchers from universities, research institutes, small biological companies and so on. We can also provide the protein related services, including molecular cloning, expression and purification, characterization and the analysis of interaction and a series of related research.
