Main Research Fields

My major field is structual studies of the ubiquitin ligases and the protein machine p97, which play critical roles in writing and reading the ubiquitin code in cellular biology, respectively. My research feature is to obtain structurally precise protein samples with defined modifications through developing protein chemical synthesis technology. With these special protein samples in hand, I aim to capture the different and transient conformational intermediates for these ubiquitin functional molecular machines, and elucidate the detailed molecular mechanism during the whole catalytic process.
